Morse Code at the beginning of the TV show 'Jericho'

General

I almost hate to publicly admit this, but the show Jericho is one of my guilty habits. There are only a few shows that I feel remotely attached to: The Office, Heroes (*much* more than remotely attached), Sopranos, and yes... Jericho. I can clearly see the flaws with Jericho. The acting is pretty rough, the love stories are borderline puke-worthy, the cheesy "superman" role of the way-too-mysterious Jake (Skeet Ulrich). Even with that said, there is still something really compelling about this post-apocalyptic town trying to survive that keeps me recording and watching the show. The last episode it finally hit me that in the intro where they show the title "Jericho" there is a Morse code message in the background, and it made me wonder if there were some messages hidden in the Morse code that might shed light on the story. From what I found, the Morse code is different every episode. Here is what I have found so far. If you know of any other messages or hidden stuff, I would be interested in hearing them.

  1. JERICHO PILOT
  2. JERICHO FALLO (fallout, last two letters not heard)
  3. JERICHO THREE
  4. HE KNOWS ROB
  5. THERE IS A FIRE
  6. THE EMP HITS (the spacing on this episode was really bad)
  7. PRAY FOR NYC
  8. ROB NOT FBI
  9. AOV SURPRISE ( NOV SURPRISE; wrong letter sent )
  10. IT BEGINS WITH
  11. 6 AND ENDS WITH
  12. BACK NEXT WEEK (this was the recap episode)
  13. BLOODSHED (the end of the sentence from 10 and 11)
  14. BLEEDINU KS (Message has a wrong letter in it, should be "BLEEDING KS")
  15. 4 DOWN 4 TO GO
  16. THEY WILL NEED IT
  17. A COSTLY DEAL

The wife and I watch it - she likes it - though I'm constantly frustrated at the fluff... I wish it were a bit darker like The Stand or The Postman... but it is primetime network TV :)

I watch it online every week. Would never be able to catch this show if not for file sharing or now legal online video. Didn't occur to me that the code was changing every episode.

@Jim - I agree on the fluff. I have found myself irritated as hell by the show, yet I still end up watching it.

I think the "Rob" storyline is probably what keeps me tuning in more than anything else. I could do without the storyline with the farmer/IRS chick, and was happy to see the fatality on the current episode. In fact I think there are more characters I can't stand on the show than ones that I actually like, so hopefully this hard winter will thin the herd a bit. Hmmm... Now that I have written all that out it is even more puzzling to me that I will continue to tune in every week. :)

@Daniel - I agree. The current episode sat on my DVR since last Weds. before I caught it last night.

Don't miss the rest of the season of JERICHO.
We're going to find out the backstory of Hawkins.
And we may even get to use the tank!

The Office?
Heroes?
Jericho?
... Well, at least I know what Sopranos are. They are usually singers who take the highest range in a performance. Personally, I'm more of a tenor fan myself - an under appreciated group IMHO.
